95% alumina ceramic is a high-performance industrial ceramic with α-alumina as the main crystalline phase and an alumina content of approximately 95%. It achieves an excellent balance between performance and cost, making it one of the most widely used structural ceramics. Its core performance parameters are as follows:
1. Mechanical Properties: Hard and Wear-Resistant
High Hardness: Mohs hardness up to Grade 9 (second only to diamond and silicon carbide), effectively resisting scratches and abrasion.
High Mechanical Strength: Flexural strength typically ranges from 300 to 350 MPa, capable of withstanding significant loads without easy fracture.
Superior Wear Resistance: Due to its high hardness, it boasts an extremely long service life in frictional applications such as material transportation and mechanical sealing.
2. Thermal & Electrical Properties: Stable and Insulating
Excellent Electrical Insulation: High room-temperature resistivity and dielectric strength, making it an ideal insulating material widely used in circuit substrates, sockets, and other components.
High-Temperature Resistance & Thermal Conductivity: Long-term service temperature exceeds 1600℃, with good thermal conductivity facilitating heat dissipation. Low thermal expansion coefficient ensures minimal dimensional changes with temperature fluctuations.
3. Chemical Properties: Inert and Corrosion-Resistant
It exhibits extremely stable chemical properties, with excellent resistance to most acids, alkalis, and molten metals. It is not prone to chemical reactions, making it suitable for harsh chemical environments.
4. Physical Parameters
High Density: Approximately 3.6 g/cm³, with a dense structure.
Smooth Surface: Can achieve extremely low surface roughness through polishing.
Key Limitation
Its primary drawback is brittleness, resulting in relatively weak resistance to mechanical and thermal shock. It cannot withstand severe impacts or rapid temperature changes.
Summary
95% alumina ceramic integrates outstanding properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, high-temperature resistance, insulation, and corrosion resistance. These parameters make it an ideal material for key components (e.g., bushings, valves, substrates, grinding media) in electronics, machinery, chemical engineering, medical, and other industries. When selecting this material, the application structure should be reasonably designed considering its brittleness. in electronic substrates, mechanical seals, wear-resistant components, medical implants, and high-temperature equipment. It is an indispensable key material in modern industry and technology.
